My son told us that he'd visited this spot and highly recommended it, so we gave it a try. It's was a real busy place when we visited on a Saturday, but because it's so large inside it wasn't cramped at all. There are a few different floors that include a furniture and interiors section, a gallery, a bookshop, an antique shop, and a couple of places to eat. The queue for the main cafe was vast, so we went to a smaller tea and cake spot instead. The bookshop and gallery were amazing, and there's an exhibition which goes into the history of the buildings and surrounding area - this was really interesting. Overall, it's a great spot to visit, but once you're in you may stay far longer than you anticipated.

Amazing place and free. It's like a market and museum at the same time. The stuff inside is very expensive but its nice to look around.

We spent many hours in Salts Mill, we loved the exhibition, cafe and shops. We came from London for a week in Saltaire. Fantastic, already booked to come again next year.

What an amazing example of preserved history and FREE entry too! Plenty of on-site parking, although I opted to go by train this time. Variety of art, books, artist materials, greetings cards, postcards and local history guides plus a café upstairs.

We had a fabulous afternoon visiting Salts Mill! We heard that David Hockney had a flowers in print exhibition and couldn’t wait to take a look. We had visited the Media museum earlier in the day, so saw some of his artistic talents through his 4 seasons videos filmed through 9 cameras. The mill had 3 floors of interesting arts, plenty of areas to eat and drink and a wonderful book store! There’s plenty of David Hockney related things to peruse/buy! We also watched a video of the history of Salts Mill which was fascinating!

Cafe and Galleries were good, good food and service, clean too. Architecture interesting Huge disappointment that the antiques centre had closed half an hour early as this was the main reason for our visit. We live a fair distance away and do not come to this area often. Perhaps management ought to keep an eye on their concessions??

One the best places to vst in the UK … art, architecture, industrial heritage, food, books and Hockney, what’s not to dislike!

Fantastic bit of local history. One of the very best Yorkshire Mills and mostly intact as it was when Titus built it. Art gallery while not for everyone is still Interesting and you have to appreciate the work that goes into a painting etc 2nd floor houses a book shop with pretty much any type of genre you can think of. The Home has some stunning pieces of furniture and anything and everything for your kitchen and or dining room. And the cafe and its food is just amazing. Clean, friendly and helpful staff and delicious food with a good selection of drinks. Recommended day out

Cafe food not value for money, poor quality of food and poorly cooked. The mill was pretentious with no history of the building evident. Totally wasted day out.

Awful staff, rude, especially in the 1853 gallery. People of colour are monitored like a hawk. This use to be a nice place to visit, but the staff attitude spoils it.

Great place, the art on show is excellent, as is everything else in the building, and what a building.

We parked on Caroline Street for £1.50 per hour (able to extend on RingGo app). Queue for food was quite long but we got in early at 11:30 which seemed to beat the queue. Pizzas were amazing! There is another cafe on level 3 if you want to skip the long queue. Exhibits were nice and the activities in the Peace Museum upstairs were great. Only suggestion to management is have some signage for prams/wheelchairs. Accessibility at the two entrances/exits we saw were none existent.

It’s always good to take a friend from other areas to visit places you enjoy and find they like them too. Salts mill and Saltaire is such an unusual place combining history via art ( through Hockney) and industrial skills - the mill itself and the town of Saltaire. The town has a character modern towns usually lack and the mill shows industrial heritage where money talked and could be good for the workers. Pity more entrepreneurs don’t build new towns around their dream developments!! We enjoyed the art, the spaces within the mill (which is huge) including the cafe and book shops. We saw some video footage of how the mill started but didn’t see it all. Think we should return to learn more. Cafe - we had to wait a while but it was ok and the lunch was fine-tasty and reasonable. Take time, don’t rush and think about the original workers but also the dedication of Jonathan Silver who so valued this place and ensured it became a valued place in industrial history.

A fabulous place to visit; the building is home to art, food, craft, history and more. Any Hockney fans will have a wonderful time and there are many other artists to appreciate. Plentiful parking, good range of food options. Plentiful free parking and access via public transport is easy. Highly recommended and I will be back!

Beautiful building but staff are a let down. Can take dogs in as long as "carried" even though signage says no dogs but can't walk through building with a drink purchased from their cafe. Obviously short of knowledge of their own restrictions and customer service.

Café is overpriced for what you get, and you get asked to leave when you purchased a drink from the mill ... I'm not sure how this works. Can I suggest a customer service course for all employees.
